NJ Transit Machinist Stole 32 Freight Locomotive Horns: Feds A New Jersey Transit machinist was arrested and charged with stealing 32 locomotive air horns from multiple transportation companies, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced last month. Jeremy Hayes was charged in Roxbury Township Municipal Court in Morris County with receiving stolen property.  Hayes stole the locomotive air horns from Norwalk Southern Railway and CSX Transportation, the DOT said. Newark Police Looking For Driver That Struck Pedestrian, Fled Scene (Photo) A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on Thursday, Nov. 2, Newark police said. At 8:10 a.m., police responded to Muhammad Ali Avenue and Livingston Street where a person was hit by a maroon 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan while crossing the street with family members, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said.  The vehicle had New Jersey registration Z59LLR, Fragé said. After striking the victim, the vehicle continued driving toward Irvine Turner Boulevard, Fragé said. Man, Woman Found Dead In Vehicle: Linden PD A man and woman are found dead in a vehicle on the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 7, Linden police said. Officers responded to the 1900 block of E. Linden Avenue to check on a vehicle and found the occupants deceased, police said. The incident is being investigated by the Linden Police Detective Bureau and the Union County Homicide Task Force, police said. Detectives said they believe this was an isolated incident, and there is no danger to the public.
