16-Year-Old Killed, Two Injured In Newark Crash: Authorities A 16-year-old teenage boy was killed and two others injured after their stolen car collided with a garbage truck in Newark on Friday, Nov. 10, authorities said. At 4:32 a.m., police responded to Central Avenue and 1st Street on a report of the crash, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II and Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Kidnappers Owed Drug Money Kept Victim Tied In U-Haul For Hours In NJ: Police A woman was arrested for kidnapping and two suspects remain at-large as Secaucus police continue their investigation into the sale of narcotics at motels in the town, authorities said. Police found one member of an illicit drug distribution ring was kidnapped at knifepoint in Jersey City in June 2023, since he owed Erica Festino, another member of the drug ring, money, police said. Two Businesses Burgled After Suspect Throws Object At Door: Maplewood PD Maplewood police are investigating two morning burglaries this past weekend that involved a suspect throwing an object through the door, authorities said. On Saturday, Nov. 11 at 6:55 a.m., police responded to Newark Way and found a business with its front glass door shattered, officers said. Elizabeth Man Robbed 7-Eleven At Gunpoint: Police Good things come to those who wait. A 29-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested on Wednesday, Nov. 8 for robbing a 7-Eleven at gunpoint in Linden in May 2020, authorities said. At 2 a.m. on May 20, Andrew Medeiros entered the 7-Eleven at 2309 E. Edgar Rd., pointed a blank handgun at the cashier and demanded money from the register, Linden police said. Intoxicated Driver Caused Head-On Crash With Tractor Trailer On Route 206: Police A 33-year-old Somerset man was arrested and charged after he crashed into a truck while intoxicated on Wednesday, Nov. 8, Montgomery Township police said. At 6:15 p.m., police responded to Route 206 and Orchard Road for a report of a crash, officers said.
