Danbury Music Centre Groups Perform Handel's 'Messiah' DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Concert Chorus and the Danbury Symphony Orchestra will join forces Saturday to perform Handel's "Messiah" at the First Congregational Church in Danbury. The performance will feature soloists Amy Goldin, soprano; Kirsten Sollek, mezzo-soprano; Nils Neubert, tenor; Joseph Beutel, bass; and conducted by Christine R. Howlett. Each year, Holmes School holds a Veterans Day Share by fifth-graders and honors veterans who are friends and family of the students. The fifth-grade class sings patriotic favorites like "God Bless America" and "Anchors Aweigh," and the students read original poems and essays illustrating the contributions of the armed forces.
