Manhattanville College Acquires Major Collection of Modernist Artist
PURCHASE, N.Y. -- Manhattanville College in Purchase recently became the owner of the largest collection of artwork and biographical material of the acclaimed modern Polish-American artist Manfred Schwartz.
The more than 200 paintings lithographs, drawings and sketches are valued at over $140,000 and were donated by alumnus Andrew Dellava (class of 1973).
Schwartz, who studied at the Sorbonne in Paris, counted Braque, Duchamp, Rouault, Picasso and Matisse among his circle of friends, mentors and influences.

Award-Winning Organist Plays At Hackensack Church
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Award-winning organist Davis Badaszewski will perform a recital Sunday at Holy Trinity R.C. Church in Hackensack.The performance, a benefit for the church's Kilgen organ, will include works by Bach, Brahms, Vierne, Rorem, Ward and more.
Badaszewsk, who's currently a student at the Eastman School of Music and the 2015 recipient of the Ridgewood Choral's Music Award, began playing organ at 14.
He is a VanDelinder Fellow at Christ Church Episcopal (Rochester, N.Y.) and a music intern at Saint Bartholomew's Church (New York City).
