Paramus Students Set Butterflies Free PARAMUS, N.J. -- PreK4 students from Visitation Academy in Paramus witnessed the wonder of the butterfly life cycle Wednesday.They monitored the caterpillar’s transition as it grew, changed into a chrysalis and finally emerged as a butterfly. It takes approximately three weeks to go from a caterpillar to a butterfly. As the students watched with excitement, the butterflies were set free.

Eastchester Police Pay Tribute To Department's Fallen Officers EASTCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Eastchester Police Department will hold its annual Memorial/Awards Service on Monday, May 30, in front of the Eastchester Town Hall, rain or shine.The public is invited to join the men and women of the Eastchester Police Department in paying tribute to all of the department's fallen members with a special tribute. There will also be a special tribute to deceased retired police officer Albert E. Lovelace. The event will begin at noon.

Heathcote School Celebrates Poetry, Arts At Scarsdale Festival SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Heathcote School held its eighth annual Art and Poetry Festival the week of April 18 to celebrate the two arts and recognize National Poetry Month. Heathcote's schoolwide exhibit was open to students and parents for three mornings, when artwork and poetry by students were displayed in the main hall galleries. Students worked with their classroom teachers to write original poems on topics ranging from being late for school to favorite vacations. Hyde Park Historical Society Opens Museum HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Town of Hyde Park Historical Society Museum will open on Saturday, June 4 in the former firehouse building on Albany Post Road in Hyde Park.There is no admission fee, but donations are appreciated. The museum will be open on Saturdays from 10 - 2 p.m. and Sundays from 1 -4 p.m through the end of October.
