The Essex County Sheriff's Office declined to disclose the name, age and reason for the prisoner's initial arrest but said officers began a search at 7 p.m. before he was taken back into custody at 8:30 p.m.

Jersey City 9-1-1 Dispatcher Used Job To Access Personal Info: Prosecutor A 58-year-old Jersey City 9-1-1 dispatcher was arrested on Tuesday, Nov. 28 and charged with unlawfully obtaining records and personal information, authorities said. In July, Rose Davis used her position as a telecommunications supervisor to access the information that she was not authorized to keep, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.  The arrest followed an investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Investigations Unit.  Davis was charged with computer criminal activity and was released pending her first court appearance next month, Suarez said.

Blaze Forces Evacuation At Swan Motel: Linden PD Firefighters responded to a fire at The Swan Motel on Tuesday, Nov. 28, Linden police said. The fire was on the second floor inside a motel room and started at 10:15 p.m., police said. Occupants were safely evacuated from their room and no injuries were reported, police said. The fire was contained to the motel room and the fire was declared under control after 30 minutes, police said.  The cause of the fire remains under investigation, police said. Intoxicated Jersey City Man Roaming Bayonne Apartment Building Had Cocaine, Knife: Cops A 47-year old Jersey City man was arrested on Monday, Nov. 27 after police in Bayonne said he had drugs on him, along with a "shank type" blade. At 12:32 p.m., police spotted Rubin Jackson roaming the halls of an apartment building at Avenue C and 32nd Street, officers said. Jackson could not explain why he was inside the building and officers believed he was under the influence of an intoxicant, police said. A search of Jackson yielded cocaine, narcotics paraphernalia, and the blade, police said. Police said Jackson "could not provide an acceptable justification for possessing" the blade. …

Double Fatal: 2 Dead In West Orange Crash (Developing) Two people were killed in a car crash in West Orange on Tuesday, Nov. 28, authorities said.  The crash occurred at Northfield Avenue between Old North Avenue and Gregory Avenue, West Orange police said.  The Essex County Prosecutor's Office said they are leading the investigation into the fatal crash.
