Dows Lane Students Celebrate Their Heritage Through Authentic Food Dishes
IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Third-grade students at Dows Lane Elementary School took their classmates and parents on an adventure to different countries around the world by letting them sample a variety of authentic food dishes during the annual Country Celebration, held on Wednesday, June 1. As part of a nonfiction writing unit in their classes, the students conducted independent research on a country that represents their heritage before creating travel brochures and video slideshows with interesting facts about their chosen country. BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Seventh-graders at Bronxville Middle School had the unique opportunity to get immersed into a full week of science as part of an i2 Learning experience from May 16-20. Throughout the week, the students applied their science, technology, engineering and math skills as they participated in a variety of hands-on activities to investigate how the body works.
