Peekskill Pastors Association Sponsors Garden Of Hope Initiative PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Garden of Hope Hunger Initiative will begin its third year with an Ecumenical Rogation Service, sponsored by the Peekskill Area Pastors Association (PAPA), on Sunday, May 1, in Yorktown.The Garden of Hope was constructed as a sustainable organic vegetable garden in 2014 in an effort to increase the amount of fresh, nutritious produce to food pantries, meal sites, and produce agencies with feeding programs serving low-income families in Northern Westchester and Putnam to address the issue of curbing hunger for people who are living on the poverty level. Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association Names Award Winner GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich Old Timers Athletic Association recently announced that Garland Allen is the recipient of its seventh annual Coach’s Lifetime Achievement Award. A luncheon will be held to honor Allen at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 6 at the Greenwich Country Club. Allen served the Greenwich Public Schools with distinction for many years as a teacher of health and physical education. He also was the director of athletics for 18 years and coached football, basketball and track at Greenwich High School. Ridgewood College Club's Book Fair Funds Women's Scholarships RIDGEWOOD, N.J. --Members of Ridgewood's College Club are having a used-book fair April 14 -17 at Somerville Elementary School in Ridgewood. Money from the book sale will go toward grants for women attending a four-year college or university. Two Roads Brewing Company Raises Funds for Stratford Public Library STRATFORD, Conn. -- The Two Roads Brewing Company of Stratford is celebrating “National Poetry Month” by honoring poet Robert Frost and the Stratford Public Library. Frost is the author of “The Road Not Taken” and the inspiration behind the brewing company’s name. The company is donating $1 to the Stratford Library for every pint poured on Tuesdays during April. Last year, the brewery donated more than $1,000 to the library from the fundraiser. The money was used for adult books, as well as music, film and lecture programs.

Pleasantville High Students Awarded For Science Research Project PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- A multi-year science research project was presented by five Pleasantville high school seniors at the 2016 Westchester Science & Engineering Fair (WESEF) on Saturday, March 12, at Sleepy Hollow High School.
