Sunglasses Totaling Nearly $1K Snatched In Strong-Arm Robbery At Newport Centre: Authorities A man made off with three pairs of sunglasses worth $952 in a strong-arm robbery at Newport Centre on Wednesday, Aug. 9, authorities said. At 9:30 p.m., police were called to the Sunglass Hut, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.  An employee said he told a man the store was closed, but the man forced his way through the front doors, shoved the employee and stole the sunglasses, Wallace-Scalfione said.  No weapons were used or displayed, and no injuries were reported, Wallace-Scalfione said.
