Man Pleads Guilty To Fatal Elizabeth Stabbing: Prosecutors A 50-year-old Elizabeth man pled guilty to fatally stabbing a man in Oct. 2021, authorities said. Two Arrested For Stealing Vehicle After Break-In: Verona Police Two people were arrested on Thursday, Oct. 26 for stealing a vehicle after breaking into a Verona home, police said. At 5:45 a.m., a person entered a home in the Wayland neighborhood by pushing open a first-floor window, police said. A key fob was taken from the kitchen area and the suspect was able to flee the scene with the homeowner's vehicle, police said. Gov. Murphy Mocks NJ School District That Canceled Halloween Celebrations Gov. Phil Murphy has taken a political stance that would help him with voters, if only kids who love Halloween could vote. Man Arrested In Secaucus For Driving Truck Stolen From Rhode Island: Police A 38-year-old man from Providence was arrested in Secaucus on Tuesday, Oct. 24 for driving a car stolen out of Rhode Island, police said. At 8:02 p.m., police were patrolling the Extended Stay Hotel at Meadowland Parkway when they observed an occupied Chevy pickup idling in the parking lot, police said. NJ Voters To Sen. Menendez: Resign New Jersey residents have a very unfavorable view of Bob Menendez. A Stockton University poll found just eight percent of New Jersey residents support Menendez, who was recently indicted on federal bribery charges, along with his wife, Nadine. The poll found more than 71 percent said he should resign, and only eight percent want him to remain in office. Elizabeth Man Sexually Assaulted Teen: Authorities A 78-year-old Elizabeth man was arrested and charged with committing sexual offenses against a child on Friday, Oct. 20, authorities said. Neil Rosenstein sexually assaulted a 15-year-old child in summer 2015, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl Graves, and Elizabeth Police Chief Giacomo Sacca said. Three Arrested After Bayonne Shooting: Police Two teenagers were arrested after shooting at each other in Bayonne on Saturday, Oct. 21, authorities said. At 5:39 p.m., police responded to 19th Street and Avenue C on a report of shots fired, officers said. Police determined Raquan Harvey, an 18-year-old Bayonne resident and a 17-year-old Flemington resident were shooting at each other, officers said. Jack's Cafe, Replaced By Popular Hot Dog Spot In Westwood, Returns As Pop-Up Jack's is making a comeback. Jack's Cafe, the Westwood staple that closed after 16 years, is returning as a pop-up restaurant at B & M Meat Market at 146 Kinderkamack Road in Park Ridge on Saturday, Nov. 4. The restaurant will be takeout only and open Saturday through Tuesday. The cafe, which closed in 2022, was replaced by 1950 Originals, a hot dog eatery owned by the grandson of Callahan's. Jack's had planned a popup event at Luna's Outdoor Bar and Grille in Vineland last month but was forced to cancel.
