New QuickChek Opens In Union County It was quite a treat for fans of QuickChek in Scotch Plains. The convenience store opened its new location in the township at 475 Terrill Road on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Death Of Husky Probed As 'Criminal Matter:' West Milford PD A $1,000 reward has offered after a male husky was found dead in the woods on the evening of Thursday, Oct. 26, West Milford police said. The husky was located 10 feet into the woods off of Clinton Road by Schoolhouse Cove Road, police said. The black and white husky, who appeared young, was not neutered, police said. Police are investigating this as a criminal matter due to how the dog was found, officers said. Burglars Stole Car, Attempted Home Break-In: Verona PD Verona police are looking for two people who attempted to break into a home on Friday, Oct. 27, before fleeing in a stolen vehicle. At 4:11 a.m., police observed a vehicle traveling near Fairview Avenue and Kenwood Avenue. Man Arrested For Possessing Handgun Stolen From Florida: Bayonne PD A 32-year-old Leesburg man was arrested on Saturday, Oct. 28, after police say he possessed a stolen handgun. At 4:39 a.m., police observed a Saturn commit numerous traffic violations at 28th Street and Prospect Avenue, officers said. Plainfield Pair Convicted In Drive-By Double Shooting: Prosecutors Two Plainfield men were convicted on Tuesday, Oct. 31, of first degree murder for killing a woman and paralyzing another in a 2021 double shooting, authorities said.
