Small NYC Earthquake Felt By North Jersey Residents: USGS Did you feel it North Jersey? A 1.7 magnitude earthquake in Astoria, NY was felt all the way up in North Jersey on the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 2, according to the US Geological Survey. The earthquake was felt in Pompton Plains, Parsippany, West Orange, Union, Holmdel, Fort Lee, Ridgewood and Paterson, the USGS map shows. Three-Car Crash Interrupts Hampton Borough's Swearing-In Ceremony Talk about terrible timing. A New Year's Day swearing-in ceremony for members and officers at a firehouse in Hampton was interrupted by a three-car crash on Route 31 outside Kappus Plastics, firefighters said. One person was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, firefighters said.

'Redemption:' No Happy Ending For NJ Gentlemen's Club Hit By Car On New Year's A gentlemen's club in Hunterdon County's 2023 did not have a happy ending. Just before midnight on New Year's Eve, a sedan crashed into Obsessions Gentlemen's Club in Hampton, the Hampton Fire Department said. The gentlemen's club suffered minor damage and no injuries were reported, firefighters said. The club seemed to take the crash in stride, posting on Instagram they were hosting a New Year's Eve do-over party on Monday, Jan. 1, serving champagne at midnight again. Linden PD Looking For Package Thief Who Fled In BMW (Photos) Police in Linden are looking for a woman who was a real life Grinch, only with better transportation. On Thursday, Dec. 21. at 6:30 a.m., the woman went into the mail room of the Citizen Linden apartment building at 307 W. Elizabeth Ave, opened several packages, and then left with the contents, police said. Linden Police The woman then left the building and fled in a black BMW, police said. Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Newark Police: Prosecutors A 22-year old Newark man was shot by police on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 28 after he threatened them with a knife, police said. Woman Killed In Crash Was Analyst For NJ Governor's Office: Murphy The 25-year-old Princeton resident killed in a car crash on New Year's Day, in Middlesex County has been identified as a former state worker. Louisa Bradlow Carman worked as a policy analyst in the state's Office of Health Care Affordability and Transparency, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said. Satis Bistro Expands In Jersey City With 87 Sussex 2024 is looking to be a banner year for the Jersey City food scene. Satis Bistro announced it is opening another restaurant in Jersey City called 87 Sussex, adjacent to its location at 212 Washington Street. 87 Sussex is expected to open sometime at the end of January.
