Valhalla High Peer Leadership Makes $2000 Children's Hospital Donation
VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Valhalla High School's Peer Leadership Club recently donated $2,000 to the Maria Ferari Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center.Recent Valhalla High School graduates, Carmine DiPalma, Amanda Amiano, Siera Nezaj, Kyleigh Abraham and Joe Cho, visited Westchester Medical Center's Regional Trauma Center to present a check. The money was raised at the Peer Leaderhip Club's May 20 walk-a-thon. The event raised money for traumatic brain injury victims. PEEKSKILL, N.Y. -- The Field Library in Peekskill will present esteemed concert pianist Professor Pierluigi Sampietro in a special masterclass on Wednesday, Aug. 24.The masterclass will be on the works of Mozart, Bach, Chopin and more. Sampietro will lecture on three cycles of music -- Baroque, Rococo and Romantic -- and play excerpts from his CD, "Bach-Sampietro Transcendental Studies." Hit That Salsa Beat at Hackensack Dance Class, Concert
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Johnson Public Library in Hackensack will host a salsa dance class and concert on Saturday, Aug. 20. The dance lesson will begin at noon followed by a 2 p.m. concert from Armando “Son” Jimenez and Orchestra -- one of the hottest salsa bands in the area -- on the library's front lawn.
