Hillsdale High School Students Wash Cars For A Cause HILLSDALE, N.J. -- The Pascack Valley Regional High School National and Spanish National Honor Societies will host a car wash Saturday, Sept. 24 at Pasack Valley High School in Hillsdale.Proceeds from the event will benefit the Dr. Barbara Sapienza Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships to graduating seniors each year at Pascack Valley High School, where Sapienza was a longtime principal and educator prior to her death in March 2008. Will Shortz Hosts Annual Crossword Contest In Pleasantville PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. -- Will Shortz, the New York Times crossword editor, will oversee the 19th annual Westchester Crossword Puzzle Tournament scheduled for Friday, Sept. 16 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Pleasantville. The tournament will feature Monday -Thursday puzzles from the next two weeks of the New York Times, selected and edited by Shortz, who lives in Pleasantville. St. Paul's Church in Pleasant Valley Hosts Annual Chicken BBQ PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. -- St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Pleasant Valley will host its annual Chicken BBQ on Saturday.The event will once again be held on the same weekend as Pleasant Valley Days, the town annual community day festival. The menu is barbecued chicken, homemade potato salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, sliced tomatoes, rolls, and homemade desserts and beverages.
