Bridgeport Gala Benefits High Achieving, Low-Income Students BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- The  Housatonic Community College Foundation's Eighth Annual Alumni Hall of Fame Gala will be held Saturday on campus in Bridgeport. The gala is the Foundation’s primary fundraiser, raising support for a scholarship program for high-achieving, low-income students who are creating a path to successful careers. The event will take place at the Public Facilities’ Yard in front of the Emergency Operation Center Building on 581 N. Hassiak Memorial Turkey Trot will take place on Thanksgiving Day at Tarrywile Park in Danbury. The event will benefit the Officer Donald J. Hassiak Memorial Immaculate Scholarship fund, which will help new and existing Immaculate High School students. Westport Police Receive Grants for Car Seat, Seat Belt Safety WESTPORT, Conn. -- The Westport Police Department has received two public grants for child safety seats and seat belt enforcement, the department recently announced. The department was awarded 25 child safety seats to be installed in local vehicles as part of its car seat installation program.
