White Plains High Students Win Awards Tied To Coca-Cola, Regeneron, MLK Jr. WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Four White Plains High School students were commended for recent awards at the Board of Education's meeting on Monday, Jan. 9, announced the White Plains School District. Senior Shelley Zhu, a student in the school’s Science Research Program, was named a Semi-Finalist Scholar in the prestigious 2017 Regeneron Science Talent Search. Jefferson Elementary In New Rochelle Hosts Sen. Latimer's Inauguration NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Jefferson Elementary School fifth-graders got the opportunity to witness an inauguration ceremony Wednesday when state Sen. George Latimer was sworn in during a morning assembly. Latimer was reelected to a third term with the New York State Senate in the fall election. New Rochelle Black Culture Club's Toy Drive Provided Gifts for Needy Kids NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- New Rochelle High School's Black Culture Club helped more than 100 children of parents who are serving time in prison receive gifts. The project was the brainchild of Rachel Motley, a junior and a member of the club, who has a deep interest in criminal justice reform, according to a release from the City School District of New Rochelle.
