Rye Sailor Named To All-Academic College Team
RYE, N.Y. -- Rye resident Rebecca Quirke, a junior at Connecticut College, has been named to the 2016 NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team by the New England Small College Athletic Conference.Quirke is a graduate of Sacred Heart Greenwich in Connecticut, and is the daughter of Karen and Declan Quirke of Rye. She is on Connecticut College’s Sailing team. Quirke is one of 69 Connecticut College student-athletes selected by the conference. New Rochelle Youth Baseball 10u Team Defends Title In Annual Tournament
NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. --The Youth Baseball of New Rochelle (YBNR) Bombers recently captured the championship of the 10u division in the Ninth Annual Diamond Buddies Memorial Day baseball tournament in Ardsley.The team won last year’s 9u division and successfully defended its title by defeating Grand Slam USA from the Bronx by a score of 7-5 in the title game.
