Body Found On 440 ID'd As Missing Woman The body found on Route 440 on the Jersey City-Bayonne border on Wednesday, May 17, has been identified as Norelis Mendoza, who has been missing last week, authorities announced. Mendoza, a 32-year-old Lindenwold mom, had been last seen in Jersey City on Saturday, May 13,Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said. Serial Secaucus Car Burglar Apprehended: Police A 28-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged with burglarizing several vehicles in Secaucus, authorities announced on Wednesday, May 17. Police began their investigation on the morning of Thursday, May 4, when a Sandpiper Key resident said someone had broken into their parked vehicle and taken money, police said. Longtime Essex County Sheriff's Lt. Tony Butler Dies Tony Butler, a longtime lieutenant in the Essex County Sheriff's Department, died on Tuesday, May 9, according to his obituary. Butler, an East Hanover resident who was a native of Cedar Grove, spent 17 years with the Essex County's Sheriff's Department and was known for lighting up a room with his laughter and quick wit, his obituary reads. QuickChek Continues North Jersey Expansion With Four New Stores There are more QuickCheks in the Garden State. QuickChek, a convenience store known for its subs, recently opened a location in Totowa at 809 Riverview Drive at Route 46 West. The 5,670-square foot store opened its doors on Tuesday, May 9. The Totowa location is the fourth QuickChek to open in the last six weeks, including stores in Ridgefield and Union Township. Another location is set to open in Scotch Plains.
