An (almost) lifelong Westchester resident, Sam has reported on all facets of Westchester since he graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in print journalism, including stints at North County News and The Examiner. A film columnist for WAG Magazine, Sam's moviegoing expertise has been profiled in the New York Times and he was a featured guest on VH1's Big Morning Buzz Live.

Three Shot, One Dead In Elizabeth: Prosecutors Three people were shot, one fatally, in Elizabeth on Monday, June 26, authorities said. At 8:30 p.m., Elizabeth police officers responded to the 600 block of Salem Avenue after receiving reports of multiple shot, the Union County Prosecutor's Office said. Upon arrival, police found three gunshot victims inside a vehicle, Gurley Edouard a 28-year-old Roselle resident, a 23-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl, prosecutors said. Community Rallies Around Boy Critically Injured While Riding Bike Agel Khalifeh, a 13-year-old Clifton resident and rising 8th grader at Christopher Columbus Middle School, is in a coma after he was hit by a car while riding his bike on Sunday, June 25. Kearny Mayor Resigns After 23 Years, Appointed Superior Court Judge It's the end of an era in Kearny. Alberto Santos, who has been mayor since 2000, announced in a letter to the town council and municipal clerk on Monday, June 26, he is resigning after being confirmed as a Superior Court Judge by the state senate. "It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve the people of Kearny," Santos wrote. Santos was in his 7th term as mayor. Before becoming mayor, he represented Kearny's second ward for one year.
