Dr. Joseph Farnese, a North Caldwell resident, was piloting when he crashed in South Carolina on Sunday, July 2. Iconic NJ Wedding Venue 'The Manor' Closes The Manor, a popular wedding venue in North Jersey for more than 60 years, has shut its doors. The Knowles family, who owned the West Orange spot, confirmed the closure in a lengthy letter on its website. The Manor's last day of operations was Wednesday, July 5. "It saddens us greatly to announce that this era of The Manor’s operation will be coming to an end," the Knowles family wrote. Popular Grocery Chain Corrado's Market Shutters Wayne Location Corrado's has closed its location in Wayne, the store confirmed to Daily Voice. The supermarket was located at 201 Berdan Ave. at the Point View Shopping Center and had been open since 2008. Corrado's still has markets in Fairfield, Denville and Clifton, according to its website. Corrado's did not give a reason for closing the Wayne location. A sign was taped to the front door announcing the closure, saying the decision was not taken lightly. "We understand the impact it may have on you," the sign said. "Please visit any of our stores for your specialty needs."

17-Year-Old Busted With Illegal Handgun: Linden Police A 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday, July 5, after police in Linden discovered he was in possession of an illegal handgun, authorities said. The teenager was stopped at 6:30 p.m. near West Simpson Ave, Lt. Christopher Guenther said. An investigation led to the recovery of a loaded, defaced handgun with a high-capacity magazine, Guenther said. The teenager was charged as a juvenile with multiple weapons charges, including second-degree possession of a handgun. He was remanded to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center pending a court appearance, Guenther said.
