Video Captures Pedestrian Struck By Jeep In Hudson County A 33-year-old woman was injured after she was struck by a Jeep Cherokee in North Bergen on the afternoon of Monday, Sept. 25, police said. The Jeep driver, a 39-year-old woman, was turning left onto 83rd Street when she struck a pedestrian in the crosswalk around 4:50 p.m., North Bergen Police Capt. Jorge Raposo said. Bob Menendez's resignation after Menendez and his wife were indicted on federal bribery charges last week. Two North Jersey Restaurants Featured On 'Kitchen Nightmares' There's apparently something rotten in the kitchens in Northern New Jersey. Two North Jersey restaurants, Bask46 in Woodland Park and Da Mimmo in Dumont are being featured on the new season of "Kitchen Nightmares", which premiered on Monday, Sept. 25. The series, hosted by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, is returning after a 10-year absence and filmed the new season entirely in New York and New Jersey. Woman Carjacked, Assaulted In Her Driveway: Verona Police A woman in Verona was carjacked in her own driveway by three men on Sunday, Sept. 24, Verona Police said. At 3:26 p.m., a Floyd Road resident was approached by three men who demanded her car keys and proceeded to punch her in the head and face, knocking her to the ground, police said. Man Slashed With Samurai Sword In Jersey City: Authorities A 37-year-old Jersey City man was arrested and charged with slashing another man with a samurai sword on Thursday, Sept. 21. authorities said. At 4:45 p.m., police responded to 11 Van Nostrand Avenue and discovered Darryl Colbourne had used the samurai sword to slash a 24-year-old in the right hand, left chest, left ear and left side of his head, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said. Man Convicted Of Sexually Assaulting Minor For Three Years A 21-year-old Newark man was convicted of sexually assaulting a relative for three years, from the age of eight through 11, authorities said. Luis Ferino assaulted the victim in her bedroom at night when other family members were asleep, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II said. The girl eventually told a social worker who contacted the Division of Child Protection and Permanency and notified authorities, Stephens said. Ferino was found guilty of multiple counts of sexual assault and faces 25 years to life in state prison, Stephens said.
