Teen Driver Seriously Injured When Car Slams Into Tree On Route 287: Njsp An 18-year-old from Rhode Island was seriously injured after his car crashed into tree while driving on Route 287 in Morris County on Monday, March 11, authorities said. At 2:45 p.m., the 18-year-old was traveling southbound in a Ford on Route 287 in Harding Township when he lost directional control, veered off the roadway right and crashed into a tree, Troy McNair, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, said.  The driver was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, McNair said. The crash remains under investigation, McNair said.

Tree Blown Into Hunterdon County Garage With Homeowner Inside: Firefighters A Lambertville homeowner received quite the scare when a large tree crushed his garage while he was inside of it on Monday, March 11, authorities said. City of Lambertville Fire District #1 Strong winds were to blame for the tree blowing over at 3:08 p.m., the City of Lambertville Fire District #1 said on Facebook.  No injuries were reported, firefighters said and the scene was eventually cleared.

Fire Ravages Hunterdon County Barn: Firefighters A barn caught fire in Kingwood Township on Monday, March 11, authorities said. At 1:46 p.m., firefighters in Kingwood responded to the fire off County Route 519, Kingwood Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 said on Facebook. The fire began in the wall of the barn, firefighters said. Workers on the scene were able to safely evacuate animals from the barn, firefighters said. The homeowner and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, firefighters said.
