Jewish Home Family Celebrates Centennial With Carnival in Rockleigh
ROCKLEIGH, N.J. -- The Jewish Home Family will celebrate its 100th anniversary and Grandparents Day in Rockleigh with the Centennial Carnival Extravaganza on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 10 a.m. Fun can be had for the entire family in celebration of Grandparents Day; your grandparents need not reside at the Jewish Home to attend—all are invited. Entertainment will include train rides, face painting, petting zoo, carnival characters, moonwalk, crafts, games, square dancing, antique cars, motorcycles, refreshments and so much more! ENGLEWOOD, N.J. -- Lucine Amara, Artistic Director of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (Verismo Opera), invites singers to apply to the Verismo Opera Chorus. Open auditions will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 16 beginning at 6:15 p.m. at 44 Armory St. in Englewood.Male and female vocalists -- amateur, professional and retired -- are invited to audition and learn more about the opportunity to sing in the Verismo Opera Chorus. Baseball Coach Shares Poetry At Ridgewood Library
RIDGEWOOD, N.J. -- Teacher and baseball coach Fox Beyer will share his poetry "for the common man" at the Ridgewood Public Library on at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
A longtime teacher at Whippany High School and currently a coach for the Somerset Patriots, based in Bridgewater, Beyer explores topics such as hunting, fishing, social media, self-esteem, nature and faith in his work. Beyer's book of poetry, titled "Letter Kindling: Igniting, Inspiring & Evoking the Fire Within," was published in January.
