Female Guard At Sing-Sing Prison Charged With Rape OSSINING, N.Y. -- The New York State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation at Hawthorne arrested 35-year-old Evita Hinds, of Queens on Tuesday on the charge of rape in the third degree (a Class E - Felony) as a result of an investigation of an incident that occurred on May 30, 2015 at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in Ossining. While employed as a corrections officer at the facility, Hinds allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with an inmate, police said. Yonkers Police Charge Man In Animal Cruelty Case YONKERS, N.Y. -- The Yonkers Police Department (YPD) responded to an apartment at 86 Convent Place on a report of a foul odor on Thursday with the investigation revealing two dogs at the location, both of whom were emaciated and unkempt. YPD personnel immediately had both dogs removed to the Yonkers Animal Shelter for subsequent care and treatment.
