Grady Elementary Celebrates Honor Students During Ceremony In Elmsford ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- Teachers, administrators, school board members, parents and Elmsford Mayor Robert Williams attended the National Elementary Honor Society annual induction ceremony on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Alice E. Grady Elementary School. Nine new members were inducted to the prestigious group. They included fifth-graders Sherif Abdelaziz, Mark Cajamarca, Yuriy Kryvoruchko, Lauren Maresca, Digna Pintado and Saivikas Shivakumar. Bronxville High Students Work With Publiquartet To Create Compositions BRONXVILLE, N.Y. -- Bronxville High School orchestra students, who had been composing their own music as part of a project-based learning experience in Denise Lutter’s classes, recently worked with PUBLIQuartet, a professional ensemble of musicians, who helped them revise and refine their pieces. Legislators Pass Resolution Memorializing Fallen Chief From Yonkers State Sen. George Latimer (D-Westchester) recently joined Assemblymember Shelley Mayer (D-Yonkers) and other colleagues in the state legislature to support a resolution “Memorializing the Life of Fallen Battalion Chief Michael J. New Rochelle Schools Appoints New Tech Director NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- The City School District of New Rochelle announced Friday the appointment of Michael A. Tromblee as the new director of technology. The Board of Education approved Tromblee's appointment at its meeting last week. Elmsford School District Scores Big, Earns Spot On National AP Honor Roll ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- The Elmsford Union Free School District earned a spot on the College Board's Seventh Annual AP® District Honor Roll, the district recently announced. It's one of 433 school districts in the United States and Canada to make the Honor Roll. Pound Ridge Firefighters Invite Community To Annual Pancake Breakfast POUND RIDGE, N.Y. -- The Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department will host its second annual Pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 26, at the Pound Ridge Fire House. All-you-can-eat pancakes, sausage and breakfast drinks will be only $5 and free for kids ages 10 and younger.
