Ringwood Fish Fry Supports Ambulance Corps RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Ringwood Ambulance Auxiliary's Spring Fish (or Chicken) and Chips will be held Friday, March 25 at the Lakeland Regional High School Cafeteria. Takeout is available from 5 to 6 p.m. and eat-in from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person, which includes fish (or chicken) and chips from Tastefully British, beverage (non- alcoholic) and a dessert table. Closter Senior Citizens Club Arrange Bus Trip To Atlantic City CLOSTER, N.J. -- The Closter Senior Citizens Club will host a bus trip to the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City, on Wednesday, March 23. The total fee for the trip is $30, which includes the bus fare, a $20 refund from Resorts for slot play, plus a food voucher for Carmine’s Restaurant. Yorktown Girls Basketball Team Wins Sportsmanship Award YORKTOWN, N.Y. -- The Yorktown High School Girls Varsity Basketball team was honored with the third annual Bill Glassman Memorial Sportsmanship Award. The award, given out by Section One Girls Basketball Coaches Association, is selected by a committee of coaches and members, recognizes a team’s fine sportsmanship in the game of basketball. Glassman was a former girls basketball coach and Section One Chairman for girls basketball. Meadowlands Museum Receives Old Map Of Rutherford RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Board of Trustees and Staff of the Meadowlands Museum recently announced its newest acquisition -- a hand-drawn map (14 by 19 inches) of the town of Rutherford in 1867 done by former Rutherford resident James Hands in 1947.Hands, born at 39 Donaldson in Rutherford and now retired in Mystic Conn., celebrated his 102nd birthday on Feb. 16. This beautiful new addition is prominently displayed in the main lobby of the museum.
