Fair Lawn Basketball Players Meet Former Travel Team Star
FAIR LAWN, N.J. -- The Fair Lawn All-Sports seventh- and eighth-grade travel teams went to see former a team travel alumna Samantha Wilkes play for her Villanova University team against Seton Hal University.Wilkes spent some time with the girls signing posters and taking pictures. The trip was organized by Jamie Conklin, and Wilkes' dad, Bobby Wilkes, helped organize the meet and greet. Wilkes starred for Immaculate Heart Academy (Washington Township) before heading to Villanova.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day Honors Clarkstown Student For Logo Design
CLARKSTOWN, N.Y. -- Rockland County Executive Ed Day honored Clarkstown High School North and Rockland BOCES student J.T. Mancino on Tuesday for his winning design submission to the Rockland County Traffic Safety Board.Mancino's entry was part of a competition among local high schools to create a logo for the Traffic Safety Board. His winning design will brand all official TSB communications, including the board's website, Facebook page and letterhead. Mancino will attend a graphic design school in Savannah, Ga., upon graduation.

Tree Conservancy of Darien Showcases Photo Contest Entries at Reception
DARIEN, Conn. -- The Tree Conservancy of Darien will show off entries in its fourth annual photo contest, "Celebration of Trees," with a free cocktail reception from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 4, at the Darien Nature Center. Darien artist Elizabeth Higgins has donated artwork to the silent auction, and Palmers Market has sponsored the reception, which is open to all. Wineport of Darien has donated wines for the evening, and Two Roads Brewery of Stratford has donated the beer. HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Bergen Volunteer Medical Initiative in Hackensack has received a $16,500 grant from the Suez Foundation to purchase two additional licenses for its electronic medical record (EMR) program.
