Duo Charged After Fight Over Shoplifting At Macy's In Danbury DANBURY, CONN. -- A store security employee at the Danbury Fair Mall was choked and kicked when he confronted a pair of shoplifting suspects Saturday, police said. Police were told by a Macy’s manager that the employee was trying to handcuff one of the suspects, 26-year-old Douglas Rollman of Mahopac, N.Y., when a struggle ensued. The second suspect, 21-year-old Gina Pecchia of Wingdale N.Y., began to choke the employee, police said. Rollman then kicked the employee in the stomach and ran off, police said. Danbury Police Pick Up Suspect In Illegal Driveway Paving Scheme DANBURY, Conn. -- A Kentucky man is facing larceny charges in connection with an illegal driveway paving operation, Danbury police said Monday. Dean Cooper, 34, of Winchester, Ky., was picked up at the Rockland County Correctional Center in New York on a warrant and taken to police headquarters in Danbury. He was charged with second-degree larceny and second-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, police said. Cooper was held on a $10,000 bond, police said. Santiago Brito-Avalos, 44, faces assault and vandalism charges in the incident, police said. Stamford Driver Killed In Car Crash BRIDGEPORT, Conn. -- Speed was a factor in a crash early Sunday in Bridgeport that took the life of a Stamford man and seriously injured another driver, police told The Connecticut Post. Police said that an arrest was likely in the Main Street collision, The Connecticut Post reported. One of the unidentified drivers, a man in his 60s, was going about 100 mph when he hit a car driven by a 20-year-old Stamford man, police told The Connecticut Post.
