Duo Charged After Fight Over Shoplifting At Macy's In Danbury
DANBURY, CONN. -- A store security employee at the Danbury Fair Mall was choked and kicked when he confronted a pair of shoplifting suspects Saturday, police said.
Police were told by a Macy’s manager that the employee was trying to handcuff one of the suspects, 26-year-old Douglas Rollman of Mahopac, N.Y., when a struggle ensued.
The second suspect, 21-year-old Gina Pecchia of Wingdale N.Y., began to choke the employee, police said.
Rollman then kicked the employee in the stomach and ran off, police said.
Pecchia also broke free and fled, police said.

Rockland Man Charged With Assault, Vandalism In Church Rampage
SUFFERN, N.Y. -- Officers had to use a Taser on a Suffern man during a rampage Sunday at the Sacred Heart Church, police said.
Santiago Brito-Avalos, 44, faces assault and vandalism charges in the incident, police said.
According to witnesses, Brito-Avalos had arrived at the church just as an attendant was opening it Sunday and asked to retrieve a wallet and cellphone that he had left there.
The 74-year-old employee handed him the articles and then, police said, was grabbed by the neck, knocked to the ground and kicked by Brito-Avalos.
