Wappingers Falls Police Save Life Of Drug Overdose Victim WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. -- Wappingers Falls police saved the life of a man who had apparently overdosed on heroin Wednesday, according to hudsonvalleynewsnetwork.com The 42-year-old was not breathing but had a pulse when he was found on West Academy Street about 9:40 a.m., hudsonvalleynewsnetwork.com reported. Water Main Break In Montebello Causes Property Damage RAMAPO, N.Y. – A water main break left 10 households in Montebello temporarily without water Wednesday. The break occurred on Victory Road in the village around 2 p.m., Ramapo police said in a Facebook post. It took the water company, Suez (formerly known as United Water), about three hours to fix the 8-inch main, according to spokeswoman Deb Rizzi. The road was closed while repairs were made, but has been re-opened, police said. Police said some properties sustained damage from the overflowing water. The road itself was also damaged, they said. Wappingers Falls Man Gets Prison For Stealing $150K In Union Funds WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A former labor union chief from Wappingers Falls has been sentenced to prison for stealing from its membership, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara announced Wednesday. William Davis, 56, who headed the Federation of Government Employees Local 1119, got 15 months behind bars for embezzling $150,000, Bharara said. Sentenced by a federal judge in White Plains, Davis had pleaded guilty in April to misusing and stealing union funds. Police Ask Public's Help In Search For Missing Cortlandt Teen CORTLANDT, N.Y. – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a Verplanck teen who has been missing since June. Samantha Lucero, 16, ran away from home and is believed to be staying with friends in Westchester or in Port Jervis in Orange County, state police said. The Hendrick Hudson High School student is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. She has brown eyes and dark brown hair that was dyed red the last time she was seen. Anyone with information regarding Samantha’s whereabouts is asked to call state police in Cortlandt at (914) 769-2600.
