Allendale Nature Group Seeks North Jersey Bird Counters
ALLENDALE, N.J. -- The Fyke Nature Association in Allendale is seeking bird counters for its 64th annual Christmas Bird count on Saturday, Dec. 17.
The event is part of a continent-wide program organized by the National Audubon Society.
The bird count will cover a 15-mile diameter circle, including all or part of Ramsey, Mahwah, Allendale, Wyckoff, Franklin Lakes, Oakland, Wayne, Pompton Lakes, Bloomingdale, Ringwood, West Milford, Greenwood Lake, Tuxedo, Hillburn, Sloatsburg and Suffern.
At least eight teams will be sent to different sections of the area to count birds from dawn to dusk.…
Make-a-wish In Trumbull Raises More Than $550,000 At Annual Ball
TRUMBULL, Conn. -- Make-A-Wish Connecticut in Trumbull celebrated its 30th anniversary at its annual Celebrating Wishes Ball on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Greenwich Country Club.
The annual dinner, dance and auction raised more than $550,000 this year, which will go toward granting the wishes of Connecticut children with life-threatening medical conditions.
It was a night full of inspiration, fun and helping more wishes come true, according to a release from Make-A-Wish Connecticut.
